MEF’s efforts to promote automation seem to be bearing fruit. Yesterday the industry association revealed activity by a host of companies in implementing APIs from MEF 3.0 LSO Sonata. They are also now speeding additional services and programs to market in response to the demand.
None other than industry giants AT&T and Verizon head the MEF’s list of 23+ adopters of the APIs it has spent the last few years assembling. Those having LSO Sonata in production today include AT&T, Axtel Networks, Bloomberg, China Unicom Global Limited, Colt Technology Services, HGC Global Communications, Lumen, Orange, PCCW Global, Sparkle, Telefónica Global Solutions, Telia, and Zayo. Those in the process of implementing LSO Sonata include CMC Networks, Proximus, TELUS, TIME dotCom, and of course Verizon Business Group. Those lists cover an awful lot of network territory globally.
In response to all that activity, MEF has already put out a new Billie release for business automation. They will soon (October) be making an Onboarding and Interoperability Test service available via Amartus. And also in October they will be offering a new certification service for MEF 3.0 LSO APIs through Iometrix. Other efforts are also in development in response to demand from service providers.
