EdgeConneX and Ori Industries have announced a partnership over in Europe that they hope will take edge computing to a new level. EdgeConneX specializes in placing data center infrastructure at the edge, while Ori has developed an infrastructure-agnostic edge cloud platform.
Ori will be deploying that platform at EdgeConneX’s three European nodes in Amsterdam, Munich, and Warsaw. It’s a federated cloud platform that brings together multiple resources developers need, including compute, storage, and network. Hence, this partnership has the potential to bring a wide variety of cloud providers’ resources closer to the enterprises that will be consuming them.
EdgeConneX also has data center assets in Dublin, so there is room yet for expansion within Europe. Of course there’s also plenty of room over in the US for when UK-based Ori is ready to cross the Atlantic in force.
