The Midwestern fiber network provider Everstream is expanding into a new market. This morning they followed through on their promise of a substantial new network build throughout Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The initial phase of the buildout will be lit in November, and will consist of 172 route miles of fiber through the western suburbs and reaching into the downtown district from there. From there Everstream plans to continue to build out further throughout 2020, with plans for 560 route miles by the end of the year. In all, Everstream is putting $27M to work in Milwaukee. The company expects to grow their local office’s headcount to more than 20.
It’s another key organic piece of Everstream’s broader regional expansion, which plans to put $300M to work adding across the region. In August they entered Columbus in force as well. They have also made a few inorganic moves on that front this year, buying the Lightbound assets in Indianapolis and Arch Fiber Networks out in St. Louis.
