A few items worth noting from around the world from the start of this week:

STT GDC has unveiled plans to build a new data center in southeast Asia. They are teaming up with Frasers Property Thailand to build out a what is billed as the largest hyperscale data center in the Ramkhamhaeng district of Bangkok, Thailand. Plans call for 2 buildings, the first of which will have 30,000 square meters of gross floor area. The project is expected to be complete in 2021.

Fusion says it has has won a significant enterprise deal for business voice. The customer is an unnamed ‘global retailer’ of video, consumer electronics, and wireless services with more than 7K stores around the world. Additional cloud services are envisioned, including UCaaS. It’s a 3-year deal valued with potential contract value of over $4M.

128Technology and AudioCodes are teaming up to support better UCaaS. The two have introduced an integrated solution based on 128Technology’s unique ‘tunnel-free’ SD-WAN tech and AudioCode’s session border controllers and media gateways to create a combined UCaaS-tuned solution for business users.

And over in the UK, Openreach is putting ADVA’s edge demarcation tech to work. BT Group’s infrastructure division is using ADVA’s gear for cell site gateways, supporting its 1Gbps Carrier Ethernet and IP solutions in preparation for 5G.
