Here’s a quick roundup of some news from around the world worth keeping an eye on:

Limelight Networks is providing some speed to iRacing. The motorsports racing simulation company is using Limelight’s CDN to deliver its software updates to users around the world. iRacing’s software gets updated every 12-weeks, sending 4-5Gb to existing members and as much as 30Gb to new ones.

Infinera’s metro gear will be getting a workout in the UK. Virgin Media Business is using Infinera’s XTM Series to supply wavelengths and optical filter ports to wholesale customers in the country. VMB’s UK footprint spans some 186K route kilometers in the UK, with 330 Ethernet PoPs and 162 voice telephony switches.

Ericsson has found a new customer for its VoLTE services. Bharti Airtel is using the company’s cloud-based technology to scale its VoLTE capabilities across India. The move also prepares Bharti Airtel’s infrastructure for 5G voice down the road.

DataBank has made a strategic investment in AVANT’s new Battle Lab in Dallas. AVANT’s BattleLabs began in Chicago three years ago, with an expansion to new markets underway. The Dallas BattleLab is a few blocks away from DataBank’s DFW3 facility. The locations act as channel-sales training and enablement centers for the AVANT partner ecosystem, and DataBank’s investment increases their presence in that ecosystem.
