A few interesting items from this morning or late last week worth noting:

FiberLight has picked Ciena’s Blue Planet for automation. They are deploying Blue Planet Inventory and Blue Planet Multi-Domain Service Orchestration in order to enhance turn-up and delivery of on-demand services. FiberLight operates 14,000 route miles of metro and regional fiber primarily in Texas, the DC metro area, Tampa, and Atlanta.  It’s an expansion of a longstanding relationship between Ciena and FiberLight.

Exponential-e has a new partner to help with connecting UK businesses to the cloud. They have integrated CTERA Networks’ enterprise file services platform into their S4 Cloud Optical Storage offering. The partnership puts Exponential-e deeper into the cloud services realm, leveraging the company’s SD-WAN expertise.

Hurricane Electric has added yet more depth in the key European market of Frankfurt. They have built out a PoP at eShelter’s Frankfurt 1 facility at Eschborner Landstrasse 100, a giant 54K square meter facility. It’s the network’s fifth PoP in Frankfurt, tenth in Germany, and 71st in Europe.

And finally, T5 Data Centers and QuadReal Property Group are teaming up to make the next big data center developer. The two have launched a $2.5B platform to develop, acquire, and operate data centers, with QuadReal bringing its real estate muscle to bear and T5 providing the data center expertise. We’ll just have to wait and see where this partnership makes its first big move.
