Tuesday Bytes: DF&I, Avelacom, Epsilon, Cambium

Four items from four corners of the infrastructure world worth keeping an eye on:

Northern Virginia now has more conduit available to it. Dark Fiber & Infrastructure announced yesterday that it has completed a new 22-conduit loop through Ashburn’s ‘Data Center Alley’. The route uses VDOT rights-of-way to provide new options for pulling fiber into a range of facilities. DF&I launched last year when it purchased the assets of USA Fiber and focuses on infrastructure in the northern Virginia and DC metro areas.

Avelacom is taking its infrastructure into Ireland for the first time. The low latency specialist has selected Interxion’s Dublin data center for a new point of presence. It’s an expansion that gets the company’s network closer to the cryptocurrency trading platforms based in the Irish capital.

Epsilon is helping Dialogic with the launch of a new UCaaS platform. The fully managed hosted service leverages Epsilon’s interconnection, network and colo services to power Dialogic BUZZ’s new UCaaS capabilities.

And Cambium Networks is working with Facebook on a new high speed connectivity option. Cambium is leveraging technology from Terragraph as part of their new cnWave 60GHz multi-mode wireless solution. It’s targeted at bringing gigabit speeds to the urban last mile with a compact form factor that can be mounted on street furniture.
