Thursday Bytes: Fusion, CloudSmartz, NoviFlow PacketFabric, GCX

Three items from different parts of the cloud to keep an eye on:

Fusion has picked up another enterprise deal for managed communications. A ‘leading healthcare company’ has awarded the company a $1.5M, 3-year deal covering over 150 locations. Fusion has certainly been keeping busy since its acquisition of Birch earlier this year, but we are just starting to get a picture of how the combined company is shaking out.

CloudSmartz is teaming up with NoviFlow for a joint solution aimed at the DCI marketplace. CloudSmartz’s on-demand portal and integration are being combined with NoviFlow’s SDN solutions and the open-source OpenKilda controller to provide data center interconnects, cross connects, and cloud connectivity.

And PacketFabric has a new global network partner. Global Cloud Xchange has interconnected with them, providing 100G transAtlantic services on the FA-1 North cable system. The deal will help PacketFabric with its planned European expansion. Meanwhile, GCX gains additional reach within the USA via PacketFabric’s deployed network.
