This past weekend, the telecom & data community lost one of its own. Jon DeLuca passed away on Saturday after a bout with cancer at the far too young age of 46.
Jon has most recently been a managing director and operating partner at Digital Bridge, and of course led both Wilcon and Fibernet Telecom Group before that. He was an ever-present fixture in our industry, an irrepressible evangelist for internet infrastructure, and an instant friend to nearly everyone he encountered.
I was thrilled when I first learned he was a reader of this site back in the early days of Telecom Ramblings, and I think I met him in person at the first Metro Connect I attended. I was honored to have the chance to interview him on this site a couple years back during his tenure leading Wilcon.
Jon will be missed, there should have been decades of road left ahead of him yet. Cancer has claimed far too many people I know this year.
