Zayo has announced another customer win of the unnamed variety. A ‘global business process outsourcing company’ has picked Zayo for a combination of colo and wavelengths in a multi-year deal.
The BPO company is migrating its existing data centers into Zayo zColo facilities, including 80 cabinets somewhere on the east coast with easy access to the major interconnection hubs – so near NYC or Ashburn. Also included are diverse 10G wavelengths to another data center in the southwest and dark fiber to assist with the migration.
As for who the global BPO company might be, it could be one of any number of such companies – ADP, Accenture, First Data, Xerox, etc. Speculation is easier when it’s one of the four big wireless operators or webscale/cloud companies. If anyone can say who it might be, feel free to drop a comment below.
Another item that slipped past me last week was on Zayo’s blog. Apparently, Zayo has been selected as an authorized provider for the Quilt. That puts Zayo in position to better grow revenue in the research and education sector, allowing them to better sell IP solutions to the 900 universities and other institutions that make up the Quilt community.
