Logix Fiber Networks has been busy adding new metro fiber in southeastern Texas. The new build brings 17 miles of fiber to the Houston suburb of Stafford, bringing some 1,300 businesses in range of the company’s fiberoptic footprint.
More specifically, the buildout is south of West Airport Boulevard, west of Murphy Road, north of Highway 90, and east of Eldridge Road. Additional fiber is planned to the east of Murphy Road.
Last year, LOGIX acquired fellow Texas provider Alpheus Communications with the help of their private equity backers at Astra. The deal significantly expanded LOGIX’s fiber footprint within and between the metro areas of Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston. I expect they are looking for additional M&A possibilities, but are clearly moving ahead on the organic front.
