One hesitates to write these things after a while, but Reuters is reporting that the on-again-off-again merger talks between DT and Softbank about merging Sprint and T-Mobile have made progress.
That’s it, no real details are available. As before, the sticky points are whether Softbank’s CEO Masayoshi Son or DT has as much control as they think they want/deserve/need or whatever… Speculation is that Son has softened his stance a tad and that some creative structuring of the deal could finally be enough to get everyone to the finish line. But even if they do, nobody quite knows which way the Trump administration’s regulators will jump, although we know they’ll all be keeping an eye on twitter…
But then, we’ve heard all this before, haven’t we? TGIF.
