I’ve had a few things going on this week, but I’m getting back in the saddle now. Here are a few news bytes from the infrastructure world:
Hurricane Electric has stretched out its IP backbone into a new country with a new PoP in Slovakia. They have deployed a presence in Sitel’s data center in the capital of Bratislava, where they hope to sell some bandwidth to a growing hi-tech sector in the region. HE has been steadily adding depth to its backbone around the world, and quite steadily in Europe.
Interxion has a new tenant at its Marseilles data center campus. Packet Host has extended its bare metal cloud into the facility, adding edge computing and connectivity for markets in the surrounding region. That includes Barcelona, where MWC is currently underway this week. Packet has been leveraging Interxion facilities in multiple markets across Europe as part of its ongoing expansion.
And Hetzner Online is taking its network northeast into Finland with a little help from Infinera. Hetzner is deploying Infinera’s XTS-3300 on a subsea link to Helsinki, enabling them to better serve their data center and hosting customer base. Hetzner already has Infinera gear in the metros on both sides of the link.
