Cross River Fiber has polished off a new carefully designed route through the New Jersey suburban landscape. They have built out a latency-sensitive fiber connection between NJFX down in Wall Township and the key financial exchanges and carrier hotels in northern New Jersey and across the river in Manhattan.
NJFX is a Tier 3 colo campus that sits right next to the submarine cable landing station at Wall Township, a key nexus where cables hop off to both Europe and South America. Access to those key locations to the north is a crucial component of the ecosystem they are hoping to build. As a specialist in the New Jersey fiber market, Cross River certainly knows how to get between the two spots as efficiently as possible.
Cross River has been fairly quiet over the last year, ever since putting together the zXc portal with neighboring ZenFi. But then, they haven’t been in the line of fire of fiber consolidation yet so when they’re quiet it usually means they are building something.
