With Metro Connect kicking off today, it’s fitting perhaps that we have some fiber infrastructure changing hands as well. Conterra has announced an agreement to acquire Network USA, LLC and Sun America, LLC, which make up NUSA.
NUSA operates a regional fiber network centered on the Gulf Coast region, stretching from Dallas and San Antonio in the west through Louisiana and over into Gulfport, Mississippi and north into TexArkana. They have metro rings in all the major and minor cities of Louisiana as well as over in Gulfport.
The deal will add 3,000 route miles to Conterra’s fiber network and gets them into two new states (Arkansas and Mississippi). It does seem to dovetail nicely with their previous acquisition of Detel last year this time, and the company expects to find some nice synergies.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
