With two infrastructure projects on its drawing board, Crosslake Fibre landed a key new partner to help make it all happen. Tiger Infrastructure Partners has stepped in with an investment.
Back in May, Crosslake announced a new cable system between Toronto and Buffalo that takes a shortcut across Lake Ontario. With high fiber count and lower latency they hope to disrupt the connectivity market between the markets of Ontario and the US East Coast.
They then followed that up in September with plans to bypass New York City proper with a cable between Wall, NJ and Long Island. One wonders what other unique short hop opportunities they might have in mind.
Neither of the two projects already announced are particularly long cable systems, but both still require funding to make them happen. Tiger’s involvement will help keep things moving on both fronts.
