Thursday Roundup: LightRiver, Windstream, Interxion

November 9th, 2017 by · Leave a Comment

A few quick takes on news from around the sector:

LightRiver has added a key upgrade to its netFLEX software. They are now able to offer encrypted wavelengths on the multi-vendor optical network management systems software. The solution uses SDN to orchestrate the encrypted wavelengths from equipment at the customer premises at both ends.

Windstream will be supplying some new bandwidth to the sports vertical. The NFL’s Tennessee Titans has picked Windstream’s fixed wireless solutions to improve fan experience at its 70K seat stadium. Also part of the deal is internet, MPLS VPN, and voice services for 150 employees across three locations as part of a headquarters expansion.

And Interxion has a new network tenant at two of its data centers. The pan-African IP transit network Workonline Communications has deployed PoPs at Interxion facilities in both Amsterdam and Frankfurt, both in close proximity to Europe’s key internet exchanges. Workonline is preparing for a boom in IP traffic growth in Africa.
