Level 3 has been focusing substantial resources on its managed security capabilities over the last year or two. Today they unveiled their latest investment in the company’s Adaptive Network Security offering: an expansion into the Asia-Pacific and African regions.
According to their network map, Level 3 has added nodes in Singapore, Hong Kong, Sydney, and Johannesburg, with another node on the way in Tokyo. Additional nodes were also added in Europe and North America. Customers in each of the new markets now have access to the company’s global, network-based firewall services.
In Q2, Level 3 saw the most threat activity still coming from China in APAC, while in EMEA it was Ukrainian sources shifting Russia out of the top spot.
The merger between CenturyLink and Level 3 continues to loom over both companies, with closure expected sometime this month.
