Here’s a quick rundown on a few news items worth a look:
CenturyLink picked up another bit of federal business this week. They will be providing the GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service with hosted contact center and VoIP services. The contract is worth up to $6M over five years and arrived via GSA’s IT Schedule 70.
AMS-IX is continuing to add nodes to its flagship internet exchange in Amsterdam. This week it was The Data Center Group’s (TDCG) facility that will become the IX’s latest PoP as part of a multi-year contract. TDCG will also make the connectivity available to its customers in its facility in Delft, which lies near The Hague.
Also over in Europe late last week, Worldhotels has tapped the combined efforts of Interoute and ShoreTel for some UC. The global hotel group is using Interoutes’ ICT and SIP capabilities with ShoreTel’s Connect solution for their internal and external communications. The implementation covers 36 locations worldwide, including locations in Germany and the US.
And finally, Limslight Networks has a new customer for its content delivery network. Cinedigm will be leveraging the CDN to prepare, store, and deliver video for its over-the-top service. Channels leveraging the service inclulde Dove Channel, CONtv, Docurama, and the WHAM Network.
