Zayo revealed a purchase of its own yesterday, acquiring a data center. In this Autumn flurry of M&A, it’s a relatively small move. But it finally puts a Zayo colo facility in a market they have been targeting: Silicon Valley.
Zayo has completed the purchase of a facility at 4101 Lafayette Street in Santa Clara. It’s adjacent to Levi’s Stadium (home of the 49ers) and of course close to the company’s fiber network (soon to be much closer I’m sure). It adds some 26,900 total square feet and 3MW of critical power to their portfolio, and of course gives them their first colo asset in northern California.
The purchase cost Zayo some $12.8M. The company expects it will contribute some $1M in incremental annualized adjusted EBITDA.
