The folks at Lightower were apparently pretty busy over the holiday weekend. This morning they revealed some infrastructure M&A that follows up on their purchase of Fibertech last year. Lightower has acquired Datacenter101.
Datacenter101 operates a data center at 101 East Town Street in Columbus, Ohio. The facility will give Lightower ownership over a key connectivity point for its Ohio markets.
With a downtown footprint of some 10,000 square feet, it’s clearly just a colo foothold that will support the the company’s core network services. But there are other markets acquired from Fibertech where I wouldn’t be surprised to see Lightower make similar moves – Indianapolis and Pittsburgh for example.
