Consolidation in the UC space can be either about scale or about technology. The UCaaS and software provider BroadSoft made one of the latter early this morning, announcing the acquisition of Intellinote.
Intellinote specializes in enterprise messaging and team collaboration software aimed at the mobile workforce and spanning some 50 application integrations. BroadSoft will be integrating their technology into the company’s Project Tempo framework, which combines UC with related enterprise cloud applications.
Broadsoft has been steadily expanding both in technology and in scale via inorganic means. Earlier this year they acquired Transera, giving them a foothold in the Contact-Center-as-a-Service space, and last year they bought Lenoid and PBXL.
The Intellinote deal is already done, and Broadsoft expects the acquisition to be dilutive to the tune of $0.04 to its 2016 earnings.
