All that work tw telecom has been doing to tune its network for the coming era of the cloud has paid off in some nice federal business. They’ve been awarded a WAN-Cloud-B contract by the Department of Health and Human Services worth up to $21.85M over the next four or five years.
tw telecom will be providing 10Gbps bandwidth services hooking up HHS’s Trusted Internet Connection sites. Those would be the Food and Durg Administration in Ashburn VA, the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta GA, and the Indian Health Services out in Albuquerque NM. It will also support rapid restoration of services via TSP.
It is looking as if tw telecom is definitely on offense this year, what with its big organic expansion project and its ongoing network upgrades.
