Cox Business has decided to dip its a toe into the cloud market via a partnership in the southwest. They’re teaming with Viawest in order to add colocation and cloud services to their product portfolio.
Viawest recently opened a big new colo facility out in Las Vegas, and has another one teed up in Phoenix for early next year. Those are two of the three markets Cox will be aiming at, with the other being nearby southern California.
Cox Business was one of the first MSOs to really take on the metro Ethernet market, and they have a big customer base to sell cloud and colo services into. They’ve chosen a different path from their larger cousin TW Cable, which bought NaviSite a while back to take cloud and managed services to market.
