Colt Delivers For Jaguar

March 21st, 2012 by · Leave a Comment

Colt Group (LON:COLT, news) picked up another modular data center victory today, this time for a luxury car manufacturer. The UK’s Jaguar Land Rover has selected the pan-European network operator to deploy a customized data center at its Solihull plant.  Jaguar will then move its existing IT infrastructure in as part of an overall upgrade.

The facility will be delivered within four months and will be fully operational by the end of the second quarter. A few months back, Colt delivered such a facility to the Verne Global campus in Iceland, later opening a PoP there as well.

Colt has spent the last few years expanding its data revenues as voice churned off. They hope to return to top line growth this year with dual expansions in datacenter/cloud services and metro depth. I still think that the company may become an acquisition target of Level 3 a few quarters down the pipe, as strategically the two look quite powerful together.
