One wonders if ABRY Partners has some grand plan in mind, or if they just really like internet infrastructure assets. Today they made yet another purchase, acquiring Xand Corporation. Xand operates a 90,000 square foot datacenter in Westchester NY, from which it offers colocation and various managed and cloud services.
Xand will join the recent additions of RCN, Sidera, Masergy, and Telx to ABRY’s growing portfolio. Put those all together and you’ve got triple play, metro fiber, managed bandwidth, interconnection, colo, and cloud. If ABRY were playing poker, I’d say they seem to have a flush. A few more key bits and pieces and maybe it’ll be a straight flush. Maybe a CDN is next? Seems like Limelight Networks (NASDAQ:LLNW, news, filings) might fit in there somewhere.
ABRY’s deep pockets will help Xand continue its expansion, and it is in the process of securing another 50,000 square feet of space.
