It’s been a great summer on the Ramblings’ Jobs Board, where it’s been a rare week where we didn’t have a half dozen active postings. This week we have two new ones, posted by the Northwest Open Access Network (Noanet) and by Unite Private Networks.
Up in the state of Washington, Noanet is seeking a Network Operations Manager, responsible for the day to day health of the company’s network infrastructure and oversees the company’s 24/7 network operations center. Noanet is in the midst of expanding an 1800 route mile network to north of 3000 route miles, powered by gear from ADVA as well as a tidy sum derived from BTOP stimulus awards.
Unite Private Networks is looking to beef up its top management team in Kansas city via a Chief Technical Officer. The CTO would be responsible for both network technology and the IT for operational support systems, and would obviously report directly to the CEO. Unite specializes in E-Rate type of deals, building and operating the fiber that powers school districts and similar facilities in cities and towns that the big fiber players don’t pay much attention to. They got a funding boost over the winter when Ridgemont bought a majority stake.
Other job listings still on the books right now include three from Sidera and two from Fibertech.
