Level 3 Communications (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) squeezed three European sports CDN wins into one PR this morning, further demonstrating the strength of their position in the content delivery market across the Atlantic. First there was the Everton Football Club, which went beyond the usual live streaming it has had for the last two years, and leveraged Vyvx to also stream its pre-season friendly tour down under in Australia. All that for pre-season soccer?
They also announced an expanded relationship with Shibsted ASA up in Norway for live and on demand Norwegian Footbal League games, as well as a pilot project with RTVE down in Spain last month supplying end-to-end event delivery for the European Athletics Championships Barcelona.
More locally, Level 3 also picked up a win at VoiceOnyx, which provides business VoIP services in Florida. They’ll be providing dedicated internet access and colocation services. According to its website, VoiceOnyx powers its VoIP offerings via the cloud.
