Level 3 Picks Up CapLogistics, Transbeam

August 25th, 2010 by · 1 Comment

Level 3 Communications (NYSE:LVLT, news, filings) continued its sustained PR blitz with two more contract wins so far this week.

Yesterday it was a three year deal with transportation solutions provider CAP Logistics.  Level 3 will provide a package SIP trunking, IPVN, colo, and dedicated internet access, which will be deployed in Denver, Salt Lake City, Houston, and Illinois.  An interesting mid-market win, and they need lots more like it.

This morning it was a contract expansion with Transbeam, a New York City provider of things like Ethernet, hosted PBX, and customized data delivery solutions.  Level 3 will be providing them with fiber connectivity to expand their presence further into neighboring markets.  First will be Boston, and later will come Philadelphia and Washington DC.

Now if only we start seeing all this activity make a difference in revenue growth in the second half!

Yawn. I am happy for Level 3 but this is not break out, game changing news they desperately need to have …

Rob, how about running a pool for charity — pick the date.

Pick the date when at market close Level 3’s stock price is equal with XO’s stock price.
