TW Telecom (NASDAQ:TWTC, news, filings) announced two customer contracts today with FirstCall Network and Members Credit Union. As the competitive metro fiber operator with the most lit buildings nationwide, they have long focused on mid-market customers with great success. I’m quite curious to see the company’s Q2 earnings report, in the light of others that have reported thus far. I’m sure there will be another 250 buildings lit, just like clockwork.
FirstCall Network, a national emergency notification system based down in Baton Rouge, selected tw telecom for a range of services including colocation, dedicated internet access, auto-reroute and digital voice services. FirstCall’s networking needs have been evolving rapidly, and the new infrastructure will help them scale their systems to meet the needs of the federal, state, and educational institutions they serve.
And in North Carolina, Members Credit Union will be leveraging tw telecom for a comprehensive suite of managed IP VPN, voice, data and Internet services. The deal includes some 20 locations across the state serving some 51,400 members. This kind of regional multi-site, multi-product deal seems to be tw telecom’s bread and butter.
