Our neighbor in the telecom blogging world, Dan Caruso of Bear on Business fame as well as CEO of Zayo and executive chairman of Envysion, has been named CTP Communications Executive of the year! A hearty congratulations to Dan for this well deserved honor. Nobody has single-handedly shaken up the fiber-based service provider market the way he has over the past two years, not even close. And certainly nobody has done it so publicly, writing a top-notch blog detailing the company’s direction and intentions to both his own employees and to anyone interested.
Communications Technology Professionals (CTP) will present the award at a dinner in March at the Omni Interlocken resort. Previous winners are a who’s who of telecom, including Greg Maffei, Richard Notebart, Larissa Herda amongst others.
We can only guess what’s next for Dan in 2009. Will Zayo become a truly national fiber giant this year? Will Envysion’s MVaaS effort grow into the year’s top internet video success story? Who knows, maybe both…
